Construction of this unique ornamental lighthouse replica began in 2003. The tower was completed and dedicated in 2008. It resides on a spit of land wedged between the Maumee River and Bay View & Detwiler golf courses. It is the highlight of a bike & walking path that meanders through the area. If you pay close attention to the tree tops, you may catch a view of a lone bald eagle that frequently perches in this area.

The lighthouse was built with private donations in cooperation with the City of Toledo. It sits not far from the site of the infamous Jess Willard / Jack Dempsey prizefight that took place on July 4th 1919 in Bay View Park.

Access to this structure is very easy. It sits along N.Summit Steet at the beginning of Point Place, about 2.5 miles north of Downtown Toledo. A small parking lot is adjacent to the lighthouse.
